I have tried many different html editors lately, especially the WYSIWYG ones. I figured an editor that lets you directly edit the page while viewing it as you would see it in a browser would make my job a lot easier. I've tried Page Mill by Adobe, Visual Page by Symantec, and Microsoft Front Page. They all have similar features that I like, such as being able to insert images with a simple click, or being able to create forms with ease. But I have yet to find one that makes me want to give up my text based editor. I end up always having to modify the text anyway with the WYSIWYG editors to get the page to display exactly the way I want. For instance, Page Mill uses
for line breaks instead of
. This causes the
lines to have too much space between them. The others at
least give you the option of using
or
.
What editors are you other webmasters using, and what
features made you choose that particular editor?
