I want to set up a web service and a server so I can host as well as design webpages. I have got Java and HTML down flat. I just am not sure how to set up a server and register everything. I know how to build it and everything. I guess what I am asking is how do I 1) Get an IP and domain name (DNS) for it. 2) How do I register every different page that I put on it to have a different Domain. Is this done through the phone company? Or the government? Who regulates it? If you could respond I would be greatly appreciative. PS: In your opinion, what do I need for a server. I was thinking of a dual PII-333 (Simply because I cant find a board that will support dual 400s) and 512 megs of ram. What do you think is good for storage. 9 gigs? This should be enough. Also, connection. For about 30 clients- T1 or T3??? Dual ISDN?? What? I really appreciate it! Thanks!
